My Must-Haves: Packing for Mexico

May 21, 2015

Memorial Day weekend is just around the corner, and, for me, it not only means the start of one of my favorite seasons – summer – but it’s also the perfect weekend to get out of the city and celebrate May 26th. For the past few years, I’ve been heading to Mexico for my birthday, taking advantage of the long weekend and enjoying vacation in one of my favorite spots. Vacationing in Cabo San Lucas has been a tradition of my family’s ever since I was little; so for me, it’s all about spending quality time with the people I love, which is exactly what I want to be doing on my birthday. Whether I’m traveling with friends or with family, the trip marks a tradition that is very close to my heart.

Minimalism is key to simplifying my life. After doing this Cabo trip many times now, I’ve been able to map out exactly what I will need for the long weekend, and the best part is that it all fits in my carry-on! Some of these items include: a shift dress that can transition from day to night, a sarong that doubles as a scarf on the plane, a printed bikini, sunblock I can count on, and of course, a straw hat to top it off. Shop all of my Mexico must-haves below.
