Circulation Intern –
Location: Los Angeles
The Circulation Intern is responsible for ensuring the circulation of My Magazine’s quarterly issues (online and print), increasing subscriptions, managing affiliate programs, and newsletters, plus tracking any publication sales (print), analyzing and summarizing readership data reports, and forecasting trends in the marketplace. The Circulation Intern will be expected to understand, and/or be willing to learn, the tools and functionality of the publications main distribution platform; knowledge in online media, and publication platforms is very beneficial, though not required.
The ideal candidate has excellent collaboration skills, communication proficiency, is flexible, results driven, outgoing, organized, and able to work efficiently while managing their own schedule and tasks.
This position will report to My Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, and founder.
The circulation intern will gain extensive, first-hand experience in understanding, and utilizing affiliate programs/marketing, analyzing feature performance, and reader engagement, distribution, how to grow a business, utilize online tools, such as newsletters, online platforms for sharing, and communicate with an audience by expanding readership, and subscribers.
Copy Editor Intern –
Location: Los Angeles and/or Remote
The Copy Editor Intern is responsible for ensuring that all material within My Magazine is clear and consistent, complete, that text is written grammatically correct, cohesive and ready for publication; including, but not limited to: fact checking, and source/contributor research, imposing consistent styles and reword, or rewrite as needed. The Copy Editor Intern will also be tasked with various research exercises to understand My Magazine’s demographic, and the way in which readers communicate; major in English and/or Journalism is highly beneficial, though not required.
The ideal candidate works well with deadlines, has excellent grammar and spelling, is outgoing, flexible, organized, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently, while managing their own schedule and tasks.
The copy editor intern will gain extensive, first-hand experience in format, publication techniques/style, understanding, and communicating with a particular demographic while engaging, and interacting with readers, and various brands, and influencers.
Editorial Intern –
Location: Los Angeles and/or Remote
The Editorial Intern is responsible for producing original, unique, and engaging, lifestyle copy, ranging from health and wellness, to fashion, entertaining, and more, for My Magazine, and mollymy.com (emails/newsletters as needed). In addition to producing original content, the editorial intern will stay up-to-date on lifestyle trends, contribute ideas to marketing and editorial projects, and partner with contributors on content communication, and/or interviews; major in journalism, creative writing, or English is highly beneficial, but not required.
The ideal candidate is creative, upbeat, has excellent communication proficiency, is skilled in grammar and spelling, and overall enjoys content creating, and communicating through lifestyle.
This position will report to My Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, and founder. Travel may be required upon request.
The editorial intern will gain extensive, first-hand experience in creating, and curating lifestyle content, producing engaging features, and be exposed to various professionals, tastemakers, and unique projects.
Junior Design Intern –
Location: New York City and/or Remote
The Junior Design Intern is responsible for assisting in the production of all look/feel for mollymy.com and My Magazine. The Junior Design Intern will act as the right hand to the brand’s Senior Designer, especially focused on My Magazine.
The Junior Design Intern should be highly knowledgeable in Abobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign with excellent layout experience, be able to contribute ideas on various marketing creative projects as well as update existing ones, work at a relatively fast pace, being able to turn around edits and designs quickly, and manage personal projects and deadlines, and must have their own computer with at least InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
This position will report to mollymy.com/My Magazine Senior Designer; scheduled hours may vary, depending on the project and needs of the business – though overall, flexible.
The ideal candidate is fun-spirited, knowledgeable in the space, interested in the publishing industry/magazine design, and eager to jump in. Social media and marketing experience is a plus!
The Junior Design intern will gain extensive experience, and guidance in designing a publication, connecting with an audience and creating a beautiful brand, and cohesive consumer experience.
Junior Photography Intern –
Location: Los Angeles
The Junior Photography Intern is responsible for assisting in the production of all things related to content creation, and visual assets as pertained to photography. The Junior Photography Intern will act as the righthand to the brand’s Senior Photographer, especially focused on My Magazine.
The Junior Photography Intern will need to own a computer, be comfortable with photoshoot prep, culling photos, and color correction; in addition, should have excellent computer skills and be eager to learn. The position will require some marketing, research, client outreach, and social media work.
The position will report to mollymy.com/My Magazine’s Senior Photographer; scheduled hours may vary, depending on the project and needs of the business – though overall, flexible.
The ideal candidate is organized, works well with deadlines, is knowledgeable in the space, interested in the process of photography, from start to finish, and eager to jump in. Social media and marketing experience is a plus!
The Junior Photography Intern will gain extensive experience, and guidance in photo production, client relations, and creative work.
