If only our friends and colleagues had a rewind button! With two eyes and two ears, you’d think paying attention during a discussion would be pretty self-explanatory, but many of us have the hardest time actually seeing and hearing the people in front of us. Preoccupation is far from novel, but in this new normal where a majority of engagements happen through a screen, our impulse to multi-task has run amok. We think we’re being efficient, but we walk away having not absorbed a word.
