Typically this begins around age 40, though it’s common to experience signs a few years before or after. Just like puberty, PMS, and pregnancy, the hormonal shifts play out in various physical and emotional symptoms. Irregular periods, fatigue, hot flashes, weight fluctuations, and mood swings are all par for the course.
