Our ever-growing to-do lists never seem to get any shorter. The frenzied symphony of activity that eats up our days and weeks can leave us feeling anxious, disconnected, and lonely. When we’re taxed to the max and running on fumes, it can be difficult to hold on to our purpose and remember what we’re truly working for in the first place. Ancient cultures may not have had brunches, business meetings, and bridal showers, but similar to our modern existence, every day was spent working either in preparation to safeguard against threats of weather and wild animals or in celebration of their grace and good fortune.
